Obelisk Grove

Presentation

Of the Festins Hall Grove laid out by Le Nôtre between 1671 and 1674, only the general layout remains. It was completely redesigned by Jules Hardouin-Mansart in 1705-1706. The architect dug a vast two-level rectangular basin from which a multitude of jets spout out, forming a liquid obelisk. The upper basin empties into the lower basin via four staircases.
