Sabine Devieilhe: Romantic Gala

Friday 17 November 2017 – 8pm
Approximate duration:
2h with intermission

Awarded the title of "Artiste Lyrique de l’année” at the 2015 Victoires de la Musique, the soprano Sabine Devieilhe became the new vocal sensation of French stage in a few months and took on one new leading role after another, with equal success, notably in the French repertoire, which she sings magnificently. From the Queen of the Night to Melisandre, from Lakmé to Rameau, Mozart and Bach, she interprets the most beautiful soprano roles and is applauded all over the world, from the Aix-en-Provence Festival to the Milan Scala.

For this Romantic Gala, with the remarkable orchestra Les Siècles, in the hands of the great French conductor François-Xavier Roth (who has just been appointed First guest conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra!), Sabine Devieilhe will sing a collection of grand arias from French operas, from Delibes to Bizet, and from Ambroise Thomas to André Messager. Masterpieces and rare gems served by an exceptional interpreter: a major event for opera lovers!
