Raphaël Pichon was born in Versailles 32 years ago. In 10 years, he has traced a royal path in music from baroque to romanticism together with his Ensemble Pygmalion.

Passionate about Monteverdi, Bach and Rameau, with Brahms and Mendelssohn as mentors, he is an infinitely sensitive interpreter of Mozart. He conducts both staged operas and religious music, which he likes to set in space and context. After exalting moments in Versailles these last years, here are Monteverdi’s monumental Vespers, Italian Splendour at the Medici Court, Rameau’s magnificent Zoroastre and the return to the Royal Opera’s stage of the indescribable beauty of Rossi’s Orfeo, rediscovered by Raphaël Pichon!
